Carthage man accused of hiding crack cocaine in body cavity

CARTHAGE — A Carthage man has been charged with multiple offenses, with law enforcement stating the man hid crack cocaine in a body cavity.The Metro-Jeff Drug Task Force said at about 2:20 p.m. Monday they stopped a sedan occupied by Jeremy L. Flowers, 29, and an unnamed woman that lived with him after obtaining a sealed indictment warrant against Mr. Flowers.While being processed at the Metro-Jefferson Drug Task Force, the task force said corrections officers recovered 17 bags of suspected crack cocaine hidden in one of Mr. Flowers’ body cavities. The street value of the seized drugs was $850, the task force said.Mr. Flowers, charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and first-degree promoting prison contraband, was arraigned in Watertown City Court and held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building without bail.Mr. Flowers will be arraigned in Jefferson County Court to answer the charges in the sealed indictment, the task force said.They also said additional charges are pending.
