Arbor Hill community holds second anti-violence meeting

ALBANY – The deaths of two men this month illustrate some of the harsh realities of life in Albany.

Khalil Barnes, 31, was shot and killed around 12:30 a.m. Saturday near Quail and First streets, police said Sunday afternoon. It is the city’s eighth homicide of the year, tying the total for 2017.

Eight days earlier, Elijah Cancer, 32, was shot around 3 a.m. in the morning while trying to break up a fight on Teunis Street.
