Parole denied for Cheri Lindsey killer

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — The man convicted of raping and killing a 12-year-old Binghamton girl in the 1980’s has been denied parole for the second time.

James Wales, 70, has been in prison for decades for the 1984 murder of Cheri Lindsey.

Wales was sentenced to 33 years-to-life in prison.

He previously was up for parole in 2017, but was denied then as well.

Wales will be up for parole again in March 2021.
