Van Cott Jewelers in Oakdale Mall closed for good after 44 years

JOHNSON CITY (WBNG) — Van Cott Jewelers inside the Oakdale mall closed its doors Sunday after 44 years in business.

The family-run business did not renew their lease after owners say they tried to re-negotiate.

Sad to close their doors for good, owner Birdie Levine tells 12 News, “They have loved and supported us for so many years as we’ve done for them and it just makes me feel so good that we have the love and support of this community.”

However, Van Cott isn’t gone forever.

Its location in the Town Square Mall in Vestal will remain open where at last check owners say sales were growing.

Merchandise from the Oakdale mall will be brought over to the Vestal location.
