Police identify victims, suspect in Vestal shooting

VESTAL (WBNG) — Authorities have identified the two victims and a suspect involved in a deadly July 4 shooting on Rano Boulevard.

The Vestal Police Department said they believe 62-year-old Jean Guillaume shot and killed his 17-year-old stepdaughter Lauren Ajax, shot his wife, and then turned the gun on himself in a “domestic incident.”

Police said 52-year-old Dr. Marie Laure Jean-jaques is in critical condition, but she is expected to survive.

Guillaume is on life support, as of Monday morning.

Police responded to the home after receiving reports of multiple people being shot. Officers said all three people were suffering from gunshot wounds when they arrived at the home.

An 11-year old girl discovered her mother, father and sister suffering from gunshot wounds before she called police from a neighbor’s house.
